I believe that fitness is acquired by living each day in the best way that you can and making choices that serve you well. The combination of daily exercise, a positive mind-set and healthy nutrition all add up to fitness.

Having been a personal trainer for 20 years, I’ve seen fads come and go… The simple truth is – you don’t need the latest diet or gadget. I promote making healthy lifestyle changes that you can stick with. As a 39 year old mother of 2, I recognize the challenges of balancing work and family… keeping fit has been my saving grace. You CAN have children and still be in great shape! I get immense gratification in knowing that I make a difference in people’s lives and inspire them to feel better about themselves.

In addition to being a Certified Personal Trainer, I also have over 20 years experience as a yoga instructor. Yoga encourages us to approach our lives with understanding and grace. This is what I have experienced and this is what I teach…

I believe that the practice of Yoga is a dance of awakening that ultimately leads to a deeper understanding of yourself and a more personal connection with the world around you. This has profoundly influenced me as a trainer and my approach to training emphasizes the body-mind connection.

Encouraging others to find the balance and joy that good health and fitness can bring into their daily lives is my way of showing gratitude for everything that I have attained during my own personal journey.

I love people that see the light and understand the importance of good health through fitness. You can’t save everyone, but you can give 200% to the one’s that accept your helping hand.

With my background as an accomplished mixed martial artist and having been a professional athlete, I have always been extremely aware of the importance of good health through exercise and a balanced diet. As a direct result of martial arts training, I became conscious of the power of the “mind-body connection” and quickly incorporated it into all of my training and competitions. I truly believe that where the mind goes…the body will follow.

When I retired from professional competition and started focusing more of my attention on my career in health and fitness, I found that my past experiences greatly enhanced my skills as a trainer. As I grew older, the importance of health, fitness and wellness became clearer to me than ever before.

Now, at the very youthful age of 53, it’s become increasingly apparent to me that age is really just a meaningless number and I refuse to believe that age should put any limitations on being fit and enjoying the best quality of life possible.

For most people age, obligations, busy work schedules, etc. become weak excuses for not making the commitment to themselves to reach their fitness potential. Instead, they use these various excuses to justify their poor fitness practices, poor diets, laziness and lack of motivation. Unfortunately, as a direct result they are over weight, seriously out of shape and in many cases unhappy. The scary part is, their quality of life is suffering greatly and they are heading down the proven path toward serious illness. I would rather sweat in the gym now, than sweat in the doctor’s office later.

It’s never too late to start moving in a healthier direction. The choice is yours.
